An Ode to Staying Home

Instagram has a way of making ordinary life seem pretty darned ordinary.  It's bad enough that cell phones and computer screens have established dominant control over my day to day.  Now those screens  are often overrun by shots of Triggerfish, gigantic bull elk, Chilean sea-run browns,  and other exotic species I've never even heard of.  The glamour shots common on social media can sometimes distract from the wonder and beauty of the places that don't require a plane ticket, a guide, a passport to get to.  It's easy to forget the value of your own backyard when you're constantly being reminded of how green the grass is on the other side, so I wanted to take a post to pay a little homage to the wonders accessible without crossing state lines.  Oregon, you're pretty damned fine.
